I am formally inviting the other candidates in California’s Senate race to wear a star spangled democracy awareness Möbius ribbon to show their support for the Perpetuation of our Political Institutions as articulated by Lincoln in his 1838 speech.

By no means should their expressing visible support of our Union and democratic principles be considered an endorsement of my Senate campaign. Conversely their wearing a democracy awareness Möbius ribbon doesn’t mean that I endorse them or their campaigns.

A democracy awareness ribbon does imply that we accept the results of free and fair elections and the conclusions of the judicial branch after cases challenging elections are adjudicated.

I will gladly give Democracy Awareness ribbons to any candidates that has publicly affirmed the results of the last election. These can also be printed and assembled with no involvement from me or my organization.

Of course if candidates believe everything is fine in America, they can simply wear a flag pin to show their patriotism. If they believe democracy is under imminent attack and distress they should invert the flag. However, the American flag and inverted flag were both utilized during attacks against our peaceful transfer of power on January 6th, making it a ambiguous symbol of support.
